Still "Side By Side" was written by a great-granddaughter of W.O. Hands, who was commissioned to find the bodies of Joseph and Hyrum Smith in 1928. The location of the graves had been lost with the deaths of Emma and Joseph Smith III and a dam had been built downriver in 1913 at Keokuk, Iowa. The fear that rising floodwaters might forever claim the graves led Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (now Community of Christ) President Fredrick M. Smith and Presiding Bishop Benjamin McGuire to contact W.O. Hands, a surveyor, engineer, and member of the RLDS church about finding the graves. Still "Side by Side" tells the fascinating story surrounding the secret burials of Joseph and Hyrum Smith and how they came to rest in the Smith Family Cemetery today. Condition: Very good+.
