The first piece is a fascinating letter to Philo T. Farnsworth in Beaver that accompanied Governor Young's proclamation of martial law as the Utah War was heating up. The letter lays out the strategy to "desolate the Territory" should the government follow through on its intentions.

The second piece, written by Pratt as mission president to Young, describes conditions in the East, including his efforts to sell copies of the "book of Covenants." New. Item #40088
