Like others have done, McKay Jones set out to make the Journal of Discourses more accessible in this commentary. His ambitious plan was to cover several dozen topics in several volumes-it is unclear if he produced subsequent editions. Coming from an orthodox LDS perspective-he describes the Journal of Discourses as "an immense and untapped treasure trove" and was a sitting bishop at the time-he provides his overview of each topic and then analyzes key statements from the Journal.
