David Whitmer Interviews: A Restoration Witness

Provo: Grandin Book Company, 1993. Second printing. Hardcover/dust jacket. 275pp. A few small tears and creases to top and bottom edges of dust jacket.

Toward the end of his life, the residence of David Whitmer in Richmond, Missouri, became an increasingly popular destination for Mormons traveling through the area. Missionaries traveling through the area as well as reporters often stopped to talk to the famous Book of Mormon witness. Most notably, in 1878 Joseph F. Smith and Orson Pratt were assigned by John Taylor to travel back east and gather church history data. They visited with William McLellin and then spent a significant amount of time interviewing David Whitmer about his experiences in the early church. These interviews are a treasure trove from a firsthand perspective. Steadily climbing in price. Condition: Very good. Item #694
