A Utah Railroad Scrapbook: Being Something of a Personal Notebook of Utah Railroads in the Nineteenth Century, Mostly Narrow Gauge, and a Few in the Twentieth

Salt Lake City: George E. Pitchard, 1987. Spiral bound. 306 pp. 8.5 x 11". This fascinating collection is an (admittedly) jumbled compilation of material regarding nineteenth century railroads. Since he was denied access at the Historical Department, the compiler relied heavily on newspaper coverage, noting that these "in many cases are the only records to be found of a number of important events in the railroad history of Utah." Pitchard covers both well-known lines like the Denver and Rio Grande but also small, local lines like the Crescent Mining Company's Tramway. A very important resource for Utah railroad history. Condition: Very good. Item #37665

Price: $150.00
