The Book of Mormon 1830

Palmyra: E. B. Grandin, 1830. First edition. Leather. 588 (1) pp. Full brown leather. Leather rubbed and worn along edges of both covers with small losses of leather at the head of the spine as well as several small tears in the leather; spine has an original label (letter stamping is slightly crooked) and 7 sets of horizontal gilt lines. Book block is solid and the blue speckling to the foredge is quite bright; there is one blank endsheet in front and one in back and both have extensive notes or writing on both sides of them as do the pastedowns in several different inks; there is a previous owner's name in ink on the title page. Bottom edge of front endsheet has two triangular tears missing; closed tear at bottom of first page of text. Condition: Very good. Item #37024
