Keys of the Priesthood Illustrated

Draper: Review and Preview Publishers, 1971. Hardcover. 382 pp. Minor soiling/smudging to edges.

As the first sustained treatment of fundamentalist history from a fundamentalist perspective, Keys holds an important place. One notable aspect of their narrative is their argument that priesthood keys-which they claimed were transmitted from John Taylor to John Woolley and then to Lorin Woolley-did not pass to J. Leslie Broadbent at Lorin Woolley's death in 1934 but instead to an "Indian prophet" living in the Yucatan peninsula. Their writing is heavily peppered with data from interviews and other research they conducted, all cited as "Journal Notes." A very important resource for fundamentalist history and claims to authority. Condition: Very good. Item #1689
