After nine hours the surgeon spoke to us to say that things went as he expected and that all of the procedures were successful. Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers.

Day Two Update: Curt is conscious and breathing on his own. He was able to have a breakfast of juice and yogurt and then even got out of bed into a chair. He is talking and joking with family and medical staff. His breathing has improved since he was able to sit up and is showing great progress. Keep the well wishes rolling in.

Day Three Update: Curt is progressing well. His blood pressure has stabilized enough to be taken off IV meds. He prefers sitting to laying down as he can breathe better that way and has less pain from his movements so we’ve been able to sit and chat for extended periods of time with him. His sense of humor is always present. Today’s biggest milestone is that he walked around the whole unit. He is very tired and in pain but looking good. He thanks everyone for their love and support and looks forward to reading your many comments and well wishes.
